Smart Fighters – Get Home Safe Program

“The Goons” Are On Their Way!

In February, students began the **Smart Fighters – Get Home Safe** self-defence program. We focused on:

* Mentally preparing for the stress of a potential attack

* Setting strong verbal boundaries and commands

* Applying **Rule #3: Strength Against Weakness**

Students learned how to recognize vulnerable areas of the body and how to use their strengths strategically.

March Focus: Problem Solving in Action

In March, we move into the problem-solving phase. Students will apply their strengths against an attacker’s

weaknesses to safely escape physical situations.

They will also practice the physical component of the **Smart Fighters Emergency Action Plan**, designed to build

confidence by helping children feel prepared in an emergency.

Facing the “Goons”

March 23rd & 25th

Our Senior Class students and parent volunteers (“The Goons”) will provide a safe, supervised “stress test” experience.

Students will:

* Escape a simulated scenario

* Make a mock 911 call

* Provide emergency contact information

* Describe their “attacker” clearly to volunteer “operators”

Successful completion earns a **Smart Fighters Certificate**!

Volunteers Needed

If you would like to volunteer as a “Goon” or 911 “Operator,” please let me know and join us on one of the event days.

March Break

No Classes March 18th

March Break Make Up Class Monday March 16th.

Children from all classes including our Little Dragons are invited to attend on Monday March 16th

starting at 6pm. We will have a special class suitable for all levels and ages to prepare for the Goons.
